HW Social Media Ad

Healthwatch Herefordshire has an important role to play in making sure local people have a say in how health and care services develop and holding health and social services to account.  Our Board of Directors ensures that we are well run and meet our statutory duties as a local Healthwatch.  The Chair will have a key role as an ambassador in influencing leaders of the local health and care systems.

You will:

  • Be passionate about making health and care services the best they can be for local people.
  • Represent Healthwatch Herefordshire and present community views at a senior strategic level.
  • Need to have leadership skills and experience, a knowledge of health and social care and a proven track record of strategic change in a complex environment.

You will be able to:

  • Give something of value back to your local community by helping to improve health and care services locally.
  • Meet new people and be part of influential conversations.
  • Develop skills and experience to help you in your career.

The role is not remunerated, but we will give you training, support and pay reasonable out-of- pocket expenses.

The role will require approximately 8 days a year.

‘Healthwatch have a unique position in the health and care system. We have the right to, and are expected to, highlight if things are not as they should be for patients. But we also see ourselves as positively influencing change by working with and through key local organisations.’ Ian Stead retiring Chair of Healthwatch Herefordshire
