Hands Up for the Planet delivers fun and challenging environmental workshops in schools on the topics of climate change, food security, hygiene and water as a scarce resource.
We have developed engaging and educational games and activities such as making a TV news flash about the impact of climate changes in different continents, to 'can you collect water' races and, making your own sustainable stove.
Workshops are for Primary and Secondary classes and we would welcome more volunteers with the expertise, skills and enthusiasm to engage with pupils of all ages in the classroom.
Hands Up for the Planet has been providing free workshops for schools across Herefordshire and neighbouring counties for over ten years. We also provide on-line resources for teachers to use.
We would like to develop our on-line presence and we are constantly up-dating our classroom resources and developing new games and activities.
We aim to enhance topics within the National Curriculum and engage pupils in current environmental issues in order to compliment and extend their work in class.
